Ruth Wilcox Adelstone
9/28/1947 - 9/14/2014

After a short, but courageous battle with ovarian cancer, Ruth passed away on Sunday, September 14th, surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth was born and raised in Tucson and attended Tucson High School, where she met the love of her life, Jeff. After earning her degree from the University of Arizona, she was a life-long Wildcat fan. Ruth loved to travel all over the world including trips to Africa, China and Europe. Ruth had a wicked sense of humor and her laughter was infectious.

She was also a talented artist who was known for her love of vibrant colors. Ruth loved animals and spent much of her time volunteering at animal rescues. Most importantly, Ruth was a fiercely devoted mom and nana.

Everyone who met Ruth felt her loving spirit. Her door was always open and there was always a seat at her table. Until the very end, she greeted everyone with her beautiful smile and outstretched arms. Ruth always saw the goodness in others. In her life, it was her mission to make everyone feel comfortable, loved, and at home.

Our hearts are broken and our lives will never be the same. Ruth is survived by her sister, Ann; brothers, Ted (Alice) and Clarence (Angie); daughters, Kim (John), Stacey (Terence) and Toni and grandchildren, Kendall, Trennon, Cole, Travis, Emma, Drew and Samantha, plus many nieces, nephews and friends. It brings us comfort to know that Ruth, and her husband of 46 years, Jeff, are together again in heaven, sitting on Hawaiian beaches, drinking Pina Coladas.

I will mss you at the reunion, my friend.  You were a very special part of my high school experience--and a very special friend.  God bless.
